INDICATION & DOSAGE
|

|
Indications:
|
Treatment of all grades of hypertension, ischaemic heart disease & peripheral vascular disease.
|
|
Dosage:
|
1 tablet twice daily.
May be increased to 2 tab twice daily if necessary.
|
|
Administration:
|
May be taken with or without food (Avoid grapefruit juice. Swallow whole, do not crush/chew).
|
|
|
PREGNANCY CATEGORY (US FDA)

Category C
Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the foetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women or studies in women and animals are not available. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
|
|
- hypersensitivity
- cardiogenic shock
- aortic stenosis & Kock pouch (ileostomy after proctocolectomy)
- pregnancy & lactation
|
|
PRECAUTIONS
|
|
- poor cardiac reserve
- severe hypotension
- impaired liver function
|
|
ADVERSE DRUGS REACTIONS
|
|
- headache
- dizziness
- flushing
- gravitational oedema
- rash
- nausea
- lethargy
- increased frequency of micturition
